New Effort To Float Suez Canal Stuck Container Ship

As reported on the BBC News Website, a fresh effort to move the stuck container ship in the Suez Canal could occur as early as Saturday.

Contingency plans exist for 14 tugboats to arrive on Sunday to assist, if Saturday's attempt fails.

\Clearly, the container ship is logistically very difficult to move, when you consider that it is 400 metres long, and 200,000 tonnes.

Why Is The Suez Canal Important?

Since the Suez Canal is so far from the UK, why is it important? Well, according to the Guardian, the Suez Canal is responsible for 12% of Global Trade,

$1 Trillion Dollars of trade pass through the passageway each year, including 50 ships per day totalling between $3-9 Billion dollars of cargo!

Logistically, passing through the Suez Canal shaves thousands of miles, and vast amounts of time off of the journey to the UK, which reduces the logistics pricing on products.

What Happens If It Doesn't Work?

Firstly, this situation is not one that can allow to go unresolved..and it is almost certain to succeed.

However, the more likely outcome is that there could be a delay in clearing the Suez Canal from the container ship. This could lead to product shortages, pricing on products that are available, and, employment that relies on handling of imports and their logistics.

Whilst 12% of Global Trade is not the 'lionshare' of all trade, Global trade is a finely balanced machine that can often suffer exponential issues when even one cog is not working fluently.

What Did The WHO Say?

Recently, and with growing criticisms of the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine, the WHO urged the continued use of the vaccine.

As reported on Reuters, the following statement or advice, was issued:

“As of today, there is no evidence that the incidents are caused by the vaccine and it is important that vaccination campaigns continue so that we can save lives and stem severe disease from the virus,”

WHO spokesman Christian Lindmeier

This statement, whilst not declaring the vaccine to be proven safe, did encourage it's continued use.

AstraZeneca Vaccine

Why Was This Guidance Issued?

The WHO issued the statement after several countries suspended use of the vaccine, in light of fears about it's safety. Those countries are:

  • Germany
  • France
  • Italy
  • Spain
  • ..plus smaller countries that have already suspended use

Whilst the suspension does not cover the entire EU, these member states consist of a large share of the EU's power and population.

What About AstraZeneca In The UK?

The UK's Medicine regulator saw no need for suspension at this stage, urging the population to get the jab when asked to do so because 'evidence does not suggest that the jab causes clots.

It is important to note that the EU states that have suspended the vaccine have done so out of precaution, not out of evidence as to a clear and present danger to the community.

What Do The AstraZeneca Manufacturers Say?

On it's website, AstraZeneca issued the following statement:

"A careful review of all available safety data of more than 17 million people vaccinated in the European Union (EU) and UK with COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca has shown no evidence of an increased risk of pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or thrombocytopenia, in any defined age group, gender, batch or in any particular country."

To translate that into plain speak, it basically means that whilst the safety of the vaccine cannot guaranteed, there is no reason to believe (as far as they are concerned) that the vaccine will cause any negative consequences when administered.

Few Surprises Now The Results Are In!

When it comes to the 4 Biggest Brands of 2020, most of the basic commercial needs of today are covered. Whether you are filling up your petrol or gas tank, of going online, there will be no surprises as to which brands came out on top. Leading the way, is unsurprisingly technology. The Tech Giants have, and continue to experience, massive growth. The effects of Covid-19 have meant that areas such as online retailing, marketing, and software development, have experienced forward trajectory when other businesses have hit the wall. Check out the blog piece below for the details:

What Is The Most Valuable Brand in 2020?

It depends on how you measure it....

Coming in at number one for 2020( for market cap), was, unsurprisingly, Apple. They recorded a market cap of a whopping $1.9 Trillion.

They are most famous as being purveyors of iPhones, iMacs, and all the i's there are. Hailing out of Cupertino, United States, they are a global giant of consumable technology. Currently, at time of printing, their share price sits at $139 USD, that's each share!

If your yardstick is market cap, then the winner is Apple, however, if you go by brand value, then the winner is Amazon with a value(approx) of $221 billions USD!

What Is The BIGGEST Brand In The World 2020?

Of course, measurements differ. We looked at the most valuable brand in 2020. However, for the biggest brand in the World 2020, the results change somewhat. So, here are the winners in order for Biggest is Best:

  1. Amazon
  2. Google
  3. Apple
  4. Microsoft

Obviously, the sector of technology still leads the way. However, the deck chairs are somewhat rearranged here with Amazon still ahead, but Google now entering the fray at number 2.

What Is The Richest Clothing Brand?

With such a dominance from the technology sector, it is easy to forget that other sectors, such as clothing, also represent some of the biggest brands of 2020. You may wonder, for instance, what is the richest clothing brand? The answer to this, apparently is the Gap.

With a value of $15.65 Billion, Gap falls well behind the value of the Tech giants, yet, clothes are an equally important sector of life, and Gap currently leads the way!

So, There You Have The 4 Biggest Brands of 2020!

5 biggest brands

AstraZenecaThe spread of the novel COVID-19 has once again brought to the fore the vital role of innovative tools that will help detect symptoms before the clinical condition worsens. Thus, the COVID-19 pandemic has led to an influx in demand for home monitoring tools, particularly pulse oximeters, since one in every of the clinical concerns with acquiring a COVID-19 infection is its respiratory effects. Respiratory function, specifically, oxygenation, are often impaired by severe COVID-19 infection. The virus damages the lung, thereby reducing oxygen intake capacity. With pulse oximetry, vital data on respiratory parameters are shown. It could monitor COVID-19 disease progression by measuring the oxygen saturation (SpO2) in a very very person’s blood.

The Workings Of Pulse Oximeters: The Ability To Detect Blood Oxygen Levels

Although people infected with COVID-19 can manifest with varying symptoms, the foremost common initial symptoms observed in patients are fever, cough, fatigue, and myalgia. Symptoms can then be classified as mild, moderate, and severe. Patients with mild symptoms but who are otherwise healthy are likely to be sent home to manage their symptoms. Pulse oximeters is helpful for these patients. the house pulse oximetry readings can accurately reflect important clinical insight on respiratory deterioration. The blood oxygen level of somebody infected with the novel coronavirus is additionally below average. This condition is assumed as hypoxia. The more severe the infection, the lower the oxygen saturation reading are visiting be. Some patients unknowingly have decreased blood oxygen levels during the primary stages of COVID-19. Their clinical status can immediately deteriorate, which they’ll eventually manifest with shortness of breath, which lands up in higher mortality rates. Having a pulse oximeter can highlight blood oxygen levels before severe symptoms have begun.

A pulse oximeter rather like the Wellue OxySmart™ is meant as a clip that matches on a person’s fingertips or toes. The Wellue O2Ring™, on the other hand, can be a ring-like device that the patient can wear. Both devices make use of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and a light-weight detector. When the oximeter is attached to the fingertip, the LEDs and thus the sunshine detector capture blood ensue the small vessels. From this, the device can then measure the share of oxygen-carrying blood within seconds. the heartbeat oximeter also incorporates a monitor that displays the SpO2 rate and a pulse wave, representing the heartbeat rate. It are often used to determine what proportion oxygen a patient needs and once they could have it.

Not only can pulse oximeters like Wellue OxySmart™ and O2Ring™ Continuous Ring Oximeter make a record of SpO2, but they can also document the corresponding pulse, heart rate, perfusion index, and movements the patient. there’s merit in knowing these health parameters, especially SpO2. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has made a recommendation guideline of oxygen saturation levels of 92–96%. Anything below this range indicates a severe case of COVID-19 infection, which might require urgent hospitalization for immediate oxygen supplementation and important care. it’s where data collected from a Wellue OxySmart™ and O2 Ring™ Continuous Ring Oximeter are often life-saving.

The use of these devices by generally healthy people and patients diagnosed with mild COVID-19 symptoms cannot aid in establishing whether or not there is a desire for them to be hospitalized. However, patients have the ability to monitor their clinical status even within the comforts of their homes since these devices can be used to instantly analyze the patient’s condition.

Benefits and Pitfalls of Pulse Oximetry

Pulse oximeters aren’t foolproof. the strategy or technique of measurement can affect the oxygen saturation which can be recorded. Improper placement of these devices can inaccurately reflect oxygen levels within the blood. the foremost effective reading is also achieved with a strong pulsatile result the positioning of measurement, granted that the wearer has warm hands and is relaxed.

However, both Wellue OxySmart™ and Wellue O2 Ring™ Continuous Ring Oximeter are FDA-approved wearable electronic devices which will monitor oxygenation continuously, remotely, and noninvasively. the information is gathered in real-time. it’s then seamlessly uploaded to a mobile, tablet, or computer app, which can be viewed by the wearer and conveniently shared with a health care provider. This feature will eliminate the requirement of the user to physically visit the hospital or clinic if it’s only for a check-up. With the data from these devices that they’re going to easily muster, they now have the selection to talk to health professionals through online consultations and still have an updated and monitored analysis of their current health condition. Doing so could mean having a smoother and easier online consultation experience. Home monitoring of blood oxygen levels can prevent premature and unnecessary visits to the emergency department and simultaneously optimize in‐person health care utilization. Especially during an endemic, having an at-home device would be the foremost effective option to minimize the possibility of getting infected.

Wellue O2 Ring™ Continuous Ring Oximeter allows wearers to capture their SpO2 levels overnight while they’re sleeping. The ring then vibrates, which alerts the wearer once their blood oxygen levels fall below the desired range. this may be particularly helpful in monitoring oxygen saturation in COVID-19 patients while they sleep. Heart rate, rate, and overall sympathetic tone are decreased during sleep. COVID-19 patients who are already critical wouldn’t be ready to tolerate a fall in sympathetic tone since this might further aggravate hypoxia. The ring oximeter readings are often used to assess oxygenation in patients under critical care. This can help the early detection of decompensation, which then allows healthcare professionals to deploy resuscitative measures.

All in all, pulse oximeter readings won’t reveal the severity of the disease process, and patients should, therefore, always seek further medical evaluation if they’re experiencing any COVID19 related symptoms. they must not solely depend upon these devices to detect medical conditions like COVID-19, COPD, pneumonia, asthma, and other disease entities with a failure in oxygen supply. Pulse oximeter devices are most often employed for the ability to conveniently monitor the wearer’s current health condition. it is also a decent tool to work out the consistency of their health, additionally as a alarm for the patient be more tuned in to their health insights.

I purchased the Wellue O2 Ring the day that I was diagnosed with COVID-19. After my first bout with that disease, we knew how important it would be for me to closely monitor my oxygen levels, since I had lung damage. I needed a monitor that would be able to be worn night or day, that would alarm if my oxygen levels dropped too low, that would record the data in an app for later analysis, and that would still allow me to do my computer work while wearing it. So normal pulse oximeters were not an option because I couldn’t type while wearing them and they did not save the data. Even most watches require fingertip monitors. That is when I discovered Wellvue’s O2 Ring! The reviews were positive and it seemed like it would work. I was hesitant because of the cost, but it seemed like a good product to try.

It was exactly what I needed! I have now worn this monitor day and night for over four months (with just a couple hours to charge it in between) and it has been a huge help! All of my doctors have been impressed with the quality of the data gathered and with its accuracy. The sleep reports that it produces are perfect for showing my overall oxygen and heart rate averages, and we can zoom in to look more closely at a specific time if we are analyzing a specific period. I can save the data and share it with my doctors with ease.

In daily life or at night, I barely notice the O2 Ring on my finger. It fits smoothly, and I can comfortably move it from one finger to another without stopping a recording. (It will count down for 10 seconds before stopping a recording.) I do have to remove it when showering, since it is not waterproof. And I am very careful when washing my hands to keep the 10 seconds from timing out. Also, I was very pleasantly surprised to discover that while I am allergic to most silicone products, I’m not allergic to this band! I can safely wear it for hours without any rash.

The quality of the product is impressive. I have already mentioned that its accuracy rivals hospital monitors. I have an abnormal heartbeat that many devices portray incorrectly for heart rate, but the O2 Ring properly shows my correct heart rate within seconds as it changes. The O2 Ring’s durability is also better than expected. When I first ordered the O2 Ring, I was not sure how long it would last, or if it would be durable enough to stand up to use all day and all night. But I have not been disappointed! Instead, it has functioned very well and even endured a move with barely any scratches and no damage! I did add a screen protector to mine, to help reduce scratching that occurs during daily use. If worn only at night to monitor sleep apnea as designed, then that would probably not be necessary since the screen itself is quite durable.

Wellvue’s customer service is also fantastic. A few months in, my first monitor had a defect and the screen stopped displaying properly. I contacted Wellvue via email and they gave me specific instructions for returning the defective product. Within days, I had a brand new O2 Ring at my door and ready for use. With no cost or complaints. Amazing!

I look forward to seeing how Wellue continues to improve the app for the O2 Ring, adding enhancements over time. And after this fantastic experience, I look forward to trying other Wellue products as well!

One thing that our London business directory has found is that the plethora of web design companies in London, starting from the superb, to the very ordinary.

You probably wonder: With such a plentiful choice, which company should I choose? So, have a glance at our 5 points for consideration.

1/ Brand – Whilst it’s true that better-known agencies will likely cost more, the advantage of a brand is that it gives you the reassurance of quality that you simply must have. The old saying: Pay peanuts, get monkeys can become a reality for you!

2/ Value For Money: Given what point one has discussed, what exactly is ‘value for money’? What it means is that you simply just have other choice than to examine exactly what you’re getting and compare what proportion this product will cost. as an example, a wordpress site should cost but a site that’s coded in php.

3/ Experience: What experienced does this Webdesign company have with my exact requirements?

4/ Quality: What reviews have this company gathered in recent times. Are they noted for outsourcing their work, or do they pride themselves on using the foremost effective local experts available?

5/ After Sales Service: If i buy an online site through this company, what support will the corporate provide whilst I’m learning to drive, or if my site becomes corrupted?

Whilst these 5 brief points don’t in themselves provide an absolute guarantee that each one will go well, they function a foundation for achieving the results that you simply can’t survive without. Often times, purchasing an online site for your company, or for private reasons incurs a heavy amount of expenditure, so it’s vital to induce the foremost effective job done right, the first time.

With that in mind, purchase a Web design product that’s locally sourced, which meets the above criteria. to undertake to do otherwise can cause tremendous frustrations and loss of revenue.

The English Premier League is more than just a sport. It is the passion of millions, and a distraction from a life of routine.

With the Onset of Covid-19, the competition was suspended. Many today are wondering when will the English Premier League re-open?

Why Did It Close?

Whilst there is no single reason why the EPL closed, there were stepping stones along the path to this destination.

Some key moments were centred around Arsenal’s match in the Europa League against Olympiakos. The Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, was diagnosed positive for the virus after meeting with the manager of the opponents. Since other members of the squad were in a similar position, the squad needed isolation.

The problem was, that shortly afterwards, the Gunners were supposed to play a key match against Manchester City. This match needed to be postponed since Arsenal were to be without both their manager, and several, if not all, key members of their squad.

However, it soon became clear that this wasn’t a problem confined to the Arsenal. And, as in keeping with current protocols in dealing with the Corona Virus, events eventually led to what is basically a lock down of sports activities in the United Kingdom.

When Will This End?

Clearly players do not want to return to action until it is safe to do so. And, with the fatality rate still in the hundreds daily, this is not yet the case. One of the mooted resolutions is to play behind closed doors, without a crowd.

This is certainly possible with one big caveat. Many infected players are asymptomatic, or, don’t show symptoms. Unless each and every player is checked, many could well be infected, and pass the virus, without showing any symptoms. In a short period of time, the virus could spread throughout the league.

So, what is the solution? The latest theory is to play at neutral venues. However, consider what the BBC said about this:

“”Up to 10 stadiums” would be used to resume the 2019-20 campaign.

The Premier League would also need up to 40,000 tests for players and staff if plans to play the 92 outstanding games behind closed doors are pursued.”

The article then goes on to say that sources have said that nothing will be resumed until it is safe to do so. And this is the line that must most be paid attention to.

Several possible resolutions flow, one after the other. But, at the end of the day, whilst the virus is in wide circulation, nothing will be resumed.

What Have We Learned?

Clearly everyone wants the cherished Premier League to resume in the UK. However, there simply cannot be any definite dates until the virus abates. They key now is to make plans for when the virus has passed, not to try to force the issue, whilst health concerns cannot be completely addressed.

What do you mean by ‘what is the winter break? Well, it is worth noting that prior to this year, the English Premier League has never had a winter break.

You might wonder why the need for a winter break in the first place? The Football calendar is jam packed. Countless competitions, cups, and international fixtures mean that recovery times for players have significantly shortened.

In fact, certain managers (such as Klopp) have decided not to attend some fixtures due to congestion. But why is this the case? To put it simply, Football is a great money spinner. It’s not just the clubs that seek increased revenue. Players wages have become astronomical, albeit over what might be considered a very short career span.

So, the authorities have seen fit to put a two week break into the Football calendar. But is it truly a 2 week break?

The Schedule For The ‘Break’

You might think that the winter break means 2 weeks of complete rest for footballers, sunning themselves on a beach in the Middle East. In fact, the break is really not that at all for some. For instance, on the weekend of February 8-9 there are still 4 fixtures, and on the weekend of Feb 14-17 there are 6 fixtures.

Here are the fixtures that still occur despite there being a ‘break’:

Saturday Feb 8th

Everton v Crystal Palace(12.30)

Brighton v Watford(17.30)

Sunday Feb 9th

Sheffield United v Bournemouth(14.00)

Manchester City v West Ham(16.30)

Friday Feb 14th

Wolves v Leicester(20.00)

Saturday Feb 15th

Southampton v Burnley(12.30)

Norwich v Liverpool(17.30)

Sunday Feb 16th

Aston Villa v Tottenham(14.00)

Arsenal v Newcastle(16.30)

Monday Feb 17th

Chelsea v Man Utd(20.00)

So, if you are a Football die-hard fan, the two week ‘break’ may be sufficiently weak as to ensure no withdrawal symptoms!

We had this down as being a draw, albeit 1-1, however it turned out to be a 2-2 non-classic.

Whilst news outlets, such as the BBC described the affair as ‘entertaining’, we described it as an encounter between two football teams that are struggling for consistency.

Yes, the game was punctuated by goals, 4 in all. However, there was a fair bit of less than stellar play. Brendan Rogers praised the mental attitude of his team, which is another way of saying ‘sticking to the task when things aren’t so easy’.

Whilst Leicester had the home advantage, recent uneven results meant that it was unsure whether we would see the good Leicester, or the bad. Whichever Leicester took the field it was a team that would be searching for the type of confidence that comes from winning. Chelsea, mirrored the same emotions. They have been a team that flatters to deceive, as they adjust to life under the Lampard reign.

It cannot be doing wonders for a team’s morale, when your manager, Lampard, bemoans the fact that the team didn’t strengthen during the recently closed transfer window. It’s kind of another way of saying ‘This team needs better players to challenge’. And, to some extent, that is correct. However, comments such as this probably would dent your team’s confidence a bit.

With the background aside, this was a see-sawing match. Rudiger put the Blues ahead, only to be cancelled out by Barnes 8 minutes later. Then, Chilwell put Leicester ahead, only for Rudiger to register his 2nd of the night, and a draw for both teams.

Of course, when you have two top four teams going head to head, you would expect the result to be tight…and it was. However, putting the supremacy of Liverpool aside, gone are the days, seemingly, of top four teams dominating the results. Both Chelsea, and Leicester, have much to do in order to grow into title contending outfits.

When it comes to the man of the match award, it must go to Frank Lampard. The way that Frank interrupted Roger’s press conference after the game was pure gold. If anything could take the wind out of the sails of the Leicester manager, this was it! The only response that Rogers could manage was to say that Lampard must have been late for his flight! If only Chelsea could have matched the tenacity of their manager….well done Frank!
