Chase Farm Hospital is part of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust group offering a wide range of medical services.
Located on The Ridgeway, in Enfield, North London, the Hospital is conveniently located near Gordon Hill Railway Station, and the A1005.
Hospital History
Chase Farm Hospital begain as a Poor Law orphanage established in 1886. The oldest part of the hospital, the “clock tower” building, was formerly used as the main part of the orphanage.
Middlesex County Council commenced admitting elderly people to the facility in 1930 and this trend continued as it developed into a care home for elderly people by 1938.
The facility became part of the National Health Service in 1948 and a new surgical block, known the Highlands Wing was opened in 1995.
In 1999, further change occurred when the hospital became part of the Barnet and Chase Farm NHS Hospitals Trust.
